Troopers assigned to 1st Cavalry Division participate in the combined arms live-fire exercise Operation Condor Rebirth On Fort Hood, Texas, Mar. 26, 2026. Condor Rebirth combines the efforts of Troopers from 6th Battalion, 56th Air Defense Artillery Regiment; 2nd Battalion, 5th Cavalry Regiment; 1st Cavalry Division Artillery; as well as civilian capability providers to assess different technologies, such as drones, radio frequency sensors, and acoustic sensors to detect a variety of air and ground threats to a maneuver formation. The exercise tested the units' teamwork and technological capabilities with each other in a realistic combat scenario, training to increase their combined lethality, survivability, and maneuverability to advance the U.S. Army's Transforming in Contact initiative.
