A retired and fully assembled U.S. Air Force F-16C Fighting Falcon is delivered to Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, March 20, 2026, as part of the Air Force's transition to BMT NEXT project. The Air Force is implementing Basic Military Training NEXT and is currently shifting curriculum and primary training to, "from the drill pad to an airfield" to give trainees a more realistic view into what they should expect post BMT graduation and this F-16 is part of that training.
