Naval Mobile Construction Battalion 24, a Navy Reserve battalion deployed to Al-Asad, Iraq, recently completed the construction of a new boat ramp and access road at Lake Thar-Thar, Iraq. This mission was conducted for the Navy's active duty Riverine Boat Squadron, RIVRON 1, Detachment One, assigned to Navy Expeditionary Combat Command, located in Al-Taqaddum, Iraq.
Iraq-Naval Mobile Construction Battalion 24 has detachments of Seabees stationed at U.S. Marine Corps and coalition force outposts throughout the Al Anbar province of Iraq, including Rawah. The mission of the Seabees is to provide camp maintenance that results in maintaining and improving the quality of life for military personnel residing in the area.
