Coast Guard Cutter Mellon (WHEC 717) completed its final patrol in July of 2020. After 52 years of service, the ship is scheduled to be decommissioned August 20, 2020. Mellon, a high endurance cutter homeported in Seattle, Washington, has long been a staple in Alaskan waters, conducting missions throughout the Aleutian Islands and Bering Sea.
