The Douglas Munro Memorial Ceremony was held in Cle Elum, Wash., near his grave at Laurel Hills Memorial Cemetery Sept. 25, 2015. Signalman 1st Class Douglas A. Munro is the only Coast Guardsman to receive the Medal of Honor for his sacrifice at the Battle of Guadalcanal during WWII. The ceremony is held every year around the anniversary of his death.
