Coast Guard Auxiliarist Ron Kaplan arrived at the fixed-base operator (FBO) bright and early on a cold dark February Saturday morning dressed in a sage green flight suit with matching bomber jacket, glasses and neatly groomed blondish-gray hair and goatee.
