米海艦船修理廠及び日本地区造修統括本部（SRF-JRMC）は米海軍横須賀及び佐世保基地に配備されている艦船に様々な艦船修理・整備・近代化のサービスを提供することで、第７艦隊の艦船を常に機能できる状態に保っている。業務やサービスは工場によって異なるが、すべての工場がこの使命を維持する責任を果たしている。

先頃、艦船修理廠及び日本地区造修統括本部（SRF-JRMC）は、米海軍作戦本部長（CNO）が促進するアーレイバーク級ミサイル駆逐艦USSフィツジェラルド（DDG 62）の近代化と改修作業を含む定期補修工事を完了した。
