The cyclists, wind-blown and lashed from rain, rounded the curve and pushed through the final straightaway to cross the finish line. As the athletes prepare their pistols, retired Capt. Frank Barroquiero of Gainesville, Georgia, helped secure fellow Army athlete retired Sgt. Christopher Kurtz’s wheelchair to make sure that he would be able to steady his aim. They were then given 15 minutes for preparation and sighting before moving into the 40-shot competition....

Army athletes overwhelmed their Air Force and Marine rivals in the field competition at the 2014 Army Warrior Trials, capturing eight of the 12 gold medals awarded in a variety of discus and shot put events. The overall field medal count stands at 21 Army, 13 Air Force and two for the Marines....
