The 1st Infantry Division is commonly referred to as the “Big Red One.” It is the the oldest continuously serving active duty division in the U.S. Army.
We are the Fighting First! An extremely fit, inspired, disciplined, trained, and ready combat division! Our legacy is and will remain one of Warfighting Excellence. We build and maintain combat ready formations prepared to deploy, fight, and win decisively anywhere in the world.
The Danger Forward is the official digital publication of the 1st Infantry Division, with a history dating as far back as the Big Red One's days serving in Vietnam. The Danger Forward continued to tell the 1st Infantry Division story through Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm and into the Global War on Terror, keeping friends, families, current Soldiers and past Soldiers of the Division informed and up-to-date on their Fighting First.
