The purpose of The Defender is to inform, remind and connect with the U.S. Army Drill Sergeant Academy cadre, full time staff and Drill Sergeant candidates. This publication offers insight on the activities, training and events that take place at the Academy. The Defender
is an authorized command information publication for members of the U.S. Army, in particular, the Soldiers attending the USADSA, family members and community of Fort Jackson. Contents of The Defender are not necessarily the official views of, or endorsed by, the U.S. government, Department of Defense, Department of the Army or Fort Jackson.
