Rising Thunder ’13 is a newsletter produced by the 5th Mobile Public Affairs Detachment covering the three weeks of combined training between soldiers from Joint Base Lewis-McChord and members of the Japanese Ground Self-Defense Force. The exercise, now in its 20th year, allows both nations to learn from each other and highlights I Corps focus on the Pacific. The newsletter features articles from public affairs soldiers of the 5th MPAD, 17th PAD and 7th Infantry Division.
