Navy Medicine Stories – Ep. 1: A Legacy of Gratitude, 25 Years of Giving Back
The pilot episode features the "full-circle" journey of Capt. Trong Nguyen, a U.S. Dental Corps Reserve Affairs Officer assigned to the U.S. Navy Bureau of Medicine and Surgery (BUMED). Escaping South Vietnam as a 7-year-old boy during the fall of Saigon, his family was cared for by military personnel during Operation New Life in Guam and at Camp Pendleton. Decades later, Nguyen serves as a senior Navy Dental Corps Reserve officer, balancing a civilian dental practice in Texas with a 25-year military career dedicated to ensuring the readiness of the next generation of sailors and marines.
