SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. - The war stories of State University of New York Empire State College students, staff and faculty will be the subject of a free public reading on Wednesday, Oct. 24 hosted by the New York State Military Museum here.

The performance begins at 7 p.m. The performance is open to the public at no cost.

Six experienced actors will read the stories which were originally submitted as part of a course called War Stories: Reading and Writing About the Impact of War.

The course participants then crafted a 75-minute performance piece featuring the voices of men and women in the military, as well as those on the homefront, who have been profoundly touched by war
The performance was originally shown at Proctors Theater in April, according to Empire State College spokeswoman Susan McFadden. This is an abbreviated version of that show being put on closer to Veterans Day, she said.

The performance will be followed by a panel discussion of the Military Transition Online Resource Center, funded by the ACE/Wal-Mart Foundation and hosted by Empire State College.

Space is limited and attendees must sign up for tickets in advance by going to the website :choose.esc.edu/events/WarStories
