KUNAR PROVINCE, Afghanistan – Commandos with the 3rd Company, 1st Special Operations Kandak, killed one insurgent and destroyed a weapons cache during a clearing operation in Daridam village, Marawara district, Kunar province, Aug. 9.
An IED training and facilitation facility was destroyed along with one automatic rifle, a pressure plate improvised explosive device, and multiple containers of homemade explosives, as well as other unknown explosives.
No civilians, Afghan National Security Forces or coalition forces were harmed or injured during the operation.
