HURLBURT FIELD, Fla. – Two Hurlburt Field airmen have been released from the hospital, and three remain hospitalized for injuries received when their tilt-rotor aircraft crashed during a routine training mission north of Navarre, Fla. on the Eglin Range, June 13.

Maj. Brian Luce and Tech. Sgt. Christopher Dawson have been released from Eglin Air Force Base hospital.

Capt. Brett Cassidy, Tech. Sgt. Edilberto Malave and Staff Sgt. Sean McMahon remain hospitalized at Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola, but are all in stable condition.

None of the injuries were life-threatening.

The 8th Special Operations Squadron who flies the CV-22 is returning to normal operations, but there is no flying until next Tuesday while squadron members continue to set up support for the injured airmen.

A board of officials is investigating the accident. Base officials stress that the accident site may contain hazardous materials released from the crash, and ask that individuals refrain from entering the area.
