BAGRAM, Afghanistan – In the past three days, insurgents have killed 15 Afghan civilians, two of which were children, in eastern Afghanistan.

“These cowardly actions of targeting ordinary citizens by the enemies of Afghanistan can not deter the determination of the Afghan security forces, Ulema, elders, tribal leaders and ordinary citizens of Afghanistan,” said Dawood Afghan, the provincial governor of Khowst.

In regards to the insurgent attack in Ali Sher district, Khowst province, Afghan said, “This is a cowardly, inhumane and un-Islamic act that only killed a large number of innocent civilians who were going about their daily lives.”

Despite the efforts of the enemies of Government of Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, ISAF forces in eastern Afghanistan remain committed to partnering with their Afghan National Security Forces counterparts to secure a stable and prosperous future for the Afghan people.
