FORT HOOD, Texas - Fort Hood officials have released the name of a soldier who died, May 5, on Texas Highway 195, near Splawn Ranch Road and the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery, Killeen, Texas, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
Sgt. Joshua Louis Kline, 26, whose home of record is listed as St. Robert, Mo., entered active-duty service in January 2007 as a food service specialist and served more recently as a biomedical equipment specialist. He arrived at Fort Hood in May 2010 and was assigned to Company A, 21st Combat Support Hospital, 1st Medical Brigade, Fort Hood, since September 2011.
Kline deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom from August 2007 to November 2008 and also in support of Operation Enduring Freedom from August 2010 to August 2011.
Kline's awards and decorations include two Army Commendation Medals, the Army Achievement Medal, Army Good Conduct Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal with campaign service star, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, two Overseas Service Ribbons and the Army Service Ribbon.
