    CRDAMC celebrates National Mental Health Awareness Month

    FORT HOOD, Texas – Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center’s Behavioral Health Division will celebrate National Mental Health Awareness Month throughout May with a host of activities that are all free and open to the public.

    A Behavioral Health Fair will be held Thursday, May 10, at Abrams Fitness Center from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.

    Participants will receive free massage, acudetox, bio-feedback, music and art therapy demonstrations as well as popcorn, door prizes and giveaways. They can also take part in Reiki, Tai Chi and Zumba classes throughout the day and learn about a wide range of mental health issues like depression, ADHD, PTSD, parenting skills, stress management, alcohol and substance abuse and anxiety.

    Mental health resources from Fort Hood and the local communities will also be on hand to highlight available services.

    Additionally, the following classes on various behavioral health topics will be held every Thursday throughout the month at the Oveta Culp Hobby building next to the Copeland Service Center. Each class will include a presentation followed by a question and answer session.
