KUNAR PROVINCE, Afghanistan – Afghan Local Police Class 03-12, representing six villages in Sarkani district, graduated 116 patrolmen, April 7.
This is the largest graduating class from Sarkani district, raising the total number of ALP to 239. The villages making up the largest graduating class were: Barabat, Bellah Island, Dona’i, Dosaroka, Pashad and Sarkani. This is the first time Barabat and Bellah Island have participated in the ALP initiative.
“The increase in numbers for the ALP program show how relevant the growth and security within the Sarkani district is to the people,” said Lt. Col. William Linn, Special Operations Task Force-East commander. “The graduates within this district are serious about the protection and safety of their people.”
