FORT LEE, Va. — Calling it “a testament to the spirit, nature and giving of DCMA employees,” Defense Contract Management Agency Deputy Director James Russell recognized headquarters employees here, March 26, for exceeding their Combined Federal Campaign goal.
“This is probably the most successful campaign we’ve run as an agency,” said Russell, noting the charity drive reached 154 percent of its 2011 goal, despite getting a late start following the headquarters move from northern Virginia.
Marty Jakim, director of International and Federal Business Division, or FBR, assisted Russell in presenting awards to drive volunteers. Jakim’s team led the campaign this year, a responsibility which typically rotates among divisions and directorates.
“I have to give special thanks to my entire FBR team, especially Luis Latorre and Frank Perrone, for taking the lead on this campaign,” said Jakim. “Sonja Patch, Maribel Robinson, Laura Leach and Atheel Mary rounded out the FBR Team that greatly contributed to this effort.”
The Combined Federal Campaign is the world's largest and most successful annual workplace charity drive, raising millions of dollars each year through pledges made by federal civilian, postal and military donors.
