    QALA-I-NAW, Afghanistan – On Tuesday, Feb. 7, at "Ruy Gonzalez de Clavijo" Base, home of the Spanish Provincial Reconstruction Team, Col. Demetrio Muñoz, along with the head of the Spanish agency David Cervilla, received a delegation from the United Nations Development Program, visiting the joint projects they have with the Spanish organization at Badghis province.

    Led by Deputy Chief for Afghanistan Van der Hoeven, the international mission consisted of a governance specialist executive, Noriko Oe, and the Afghan area delegate, Zahid Hamdard. They were joined from Herat by regional representatives Atul Shekhar and Ramin Sharhriari on behalf of the Peace and Reintegration Program.

    After a brief visit to the Spanish PRT, both Spanish and international delegations went to Qala-i-Naw to greet the Provincial Afghan Government Representative Delmar Jan Arman. Then they participated in a meeting organized by the town council, where they discussed issues related to future United Nations investments on Badghis province.

    Later, they visited existing joint projects and assessed potential new ones.

    Before returning to their headquarters at Kabul, Van der Hoeven expressed huge satisfaction with everything seen congratulating the Spanish PRT for their excellent management, highlighting a strong willingness to continuing their organization support investments in projects managed by the Spanish Cooperation Agency.
