    State employees with Adjutant General's office honored

    FARGO and BISMARCK, N.D. - State of North Dakota employees with the Office of the Adjutant General were honored this week with longevity awards.

    Maj. Gen. David Sprynczynatyk, North Dakota adjutant general, presented awards to members of the North Dakota National Guard's civilian workforce in Bismarck on Dec. 5 and in Fargo on Dec. 6.

    "Whether in military uniform or not, each of us has an equally important role in serving our state and nation," Sprynczynatyk said before presenting the awards. "When you consider the men and women recognized for their service, together they have more than 425 years of loyal, dedicated and professional service to the state of North Dakota. This team of state employees, National Guard soldiers and airmen do a tremendous job serving the state in every instance, truly making a difference."

    Bismarck awardees:
    Duane Knoll was honored for 25 years of service as a systems mechanic at Fraine Barracks.

    Lana Werbelow was recognized for 20 years for her contributions as a human resource technician.

    Those given awards for 15 years of service were Dennis Biesecker, instrument technician, and Cindee Jennens, administrative officer.

    Those receiving 10-year plaques included Greg Burgard, security guard; Coreen Ryan, administrative officer; Angie Thomas, environmental administrative assistant; Jennifer Dahl, administrative assistant; Valerie Hanson, GIS environmental GIS specialist; Jonathan Haugen, multi-media developer; and Vicki Siegel, account technician.

    For five years of service, a plaque was awarded to Robert Klein, maintenance worker; security guards Nicholas Hoffert and Kenneth Jensen; and Darrel Pitman, N.D. Civil Air Patrol administrative officer.

    Three-year awards were given to Brig. Gen. Alan Dohrmann, North Dakota National Guard deputy adjutant general; Josh Entzel, maintenance worker at the N.D. Veterans Cemetery; Nicole Klein, custodial supervisor at the Raymond J. Bohn Armory; Wesley Schmidt, National Guard energy conservation program manager; Tanya Schmidt-Dietz, custodian; Bernadette Ternes, human relations counselor; Alex Dyk, maintenance worker; Patti Clemo, emergency program specialist; and Bill Prokopyk, public information specialist.

    Minot Awardees:
    A three -year plaque was awarded to David Dammen, physical plant director, and Lori Schiele, custodial supervisor, both at the Minot Armed Forces Reserve Center.

    Fargo, N.D. Awardees:
    Those honored for 35 years of service with the North Dakota Air National Guard were Scott Anderson and Lynette Cook, both with the Civil Engineer Squadron.

    Dave Bush, Jonathan Gibson and Jay Tweten have each served 20 years as firefighters for 119th Wing.

    Scott Terry, Civil Engineer operations, was recognized for 15 years of service.

    Mark Olafson, who works with the Civil Engineer Squadron, was honored for 10 years of service.

    Honored for five years of service at the Air National Guard were Charles Heitkamp, with finance, and Michael Ohren and Travis Schauer, both firefighters.

    Three-year employees receiving plaques included Brock Carlson, Civil Engineer Squadron; Kyle Ransom, 119th Wing firefighter; Leonard Schmit, Civil Engineer Squadron; Todd Seguin, security forces; and Jacob Thiel, mechanical maintenance.

    Two state employees at the Fargo Armed Forces Reserve Center, which houses Army National Guardsmen and Navy Reservists, also were honored. Martin Tonn, the facilities manager, has worked there for 20 years, and Jack Willson Jr., custodial supervisor, for five years.

    Grand Forks, N.D. Awardees:
    Daniel Welsh, physical plant director, has served 15 years and Steven Urseth, custodial supervisor, has served five years, both work at the Grand Forks armory.

    Wahpeton, N.D. Awardees:
    At the Wahpeton Armed Forces Reserved Center, which is home to the Army National Guard and Marine Reserves, Darnell Wohlk, custodial supervisor, was recognized for five years of service and Randolph Neppl, maintenance supervisor, was recognized for three years of service.
