    Baghdad Soldiers discovered two large weapons caches in western Baghdad Oct. 21-22.

    Soldiers from 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 1st Armored Division, attached to MND-B, found a large weapons cache in western Baghdad at approximately 11 p.m. Saturday.

    The cache contained 64 rifle grenades, 24 60mm mortar rounds, 19 155mm fuses, six missiles of unknown size, a helicopter rocket, a homemade bomb, 13 130mm fuses, seven sticks of C4 explosive, eight blocks of TNT, two cans of 7.62mm ammunition and 700 rounds of 7.62mm ammunition.

    Later, Soldiers from 2nd BCT, discovered a second cache in western Baghdad.

    The cache contained 11 300 pound bombs, a 500 pound bomb, a 250 pound bomb, ten blocks of C4 explosive, ten blasting caps, 20 rocket-propelled grenade rounds, five grenades, four RPG launchers, 35 anti-tank rounds, two 65mm rockets, two 120mm artillery rounds and a 25mm artillery round.

    The munitions were destroyed by an Explosive Ordnance Disposal team.

    As of Saturday, Iraqi Security Forces and MND-B Soldiers have cleared more than 95,000 buildings, 80 mosques and 65 muhallas, detained more than 224 terrorist suspects, seized more than 1,800 weapons, registered more than 750 weapons and found more than 42 weapons caches in support of operation together forward. The combined forces have also removed more than 217,485 cubic meters of trash from the streets of Baghdad.
