FARGO, N.D. - After deploying with Kosovo Force 12 in August 2009, the North Dakota National Guard's Staff Sgt. Leah Kyllo is returning to North Dakota, in time to spend the holidays with her family and friends at home.
Kyllo, of Mayville, N.D., has spent the last 27 months serving as part of headquarters in Pristina, Kosovo, after volunteering to extend her Kosovo deployment. The North Dakota contingency that led KFOR 12 arrived home in North Dakota in August 2010.

The KFOR 12 mission was the single largest mobilization for the North Dakota National Guard since the Korean War.
Currently, 55 North Dakota soldiers with the Headquarters and Headquarters Company of the 1st Battalion, 112th Aviation Regiment (Security and Support) are deployed to Kosovo as part of Kosovo Force 15, a NATO peacekeeping operation.
