KODIAK, Alaska — Members of the Spouses Association of Kodiak and Santa Claus give gifts to children in the remote villages of Ouzinkie and Danger Bay on Kodiak Island, Dec. 6, 2011.

This is the 35th year for Santa to the Villages to bring Christmas cheer to boys and girls living in the remote villages of Kodiak Island.

The air station flies Santa and his elves to seven remote villages on Kodiak Island to support the annual Santa to the Villages outreach program.

Santa to the Villages is sponsored by the Spouses Association of Kodiak and members work throughout the year to gather presents, books and handmade stockings and mittens for the outreach program to remote Kodiak Island villages.

People around the world knit stockings and mittens each year for this outreach event to the remote villages on Kodiak Island.
