SOUTHWEST ASIA – Command Sgt. Maj. Stephan Frennier, Third Army/ARCENT senior enlisted advisor and Whitehouse, Texas native, visited soldiers at two bases here Dec. 2 - 5.

During his visit, Command Sgt. Maj. Frennier expressed his gratitude while handing out Third Army coins to soldiers who have exceeded the standard with their hard work and dedication.

“You soldiers are unsung heroes,” Command Sgt. Maj. Frennier said. “You are some of the hardest working soldiers in the region, and what you’re doing here is absolutely crucial. Every one of you impresses me. In my opinion, you are the top 1 percent of our country.”

While touring two bases, Command Sgt. Maj. Frennier took time to visit multiple units including Patriot Missile System Enhanced Operators/Maintainers with the 2nd Battalion, 43rd Air Defense Artillery Regiment, Fort Bliss, Texas, and Parachute Riggers with the U.S. Army Reserve, 421st Quartermaster Company, Fort Valley, Ga.

Sgt. Michael Boatwright, 421st Quartermaster Compny, and Cleveland, Ga., native, said Command Sgt. Maj. Frennier’s visit was inspiring and helped build esprit de corps among his fellow riggers.

“It really makes you feel good to see your upper level leadership take time to come down and see the tasks you’re accomplishing,” explained Boatwright. “Our unit works hard day-in and day-out, and I’m glad Command Sgt. Maj. Frennier had the chance to see the great things we’re accomplishing every day.”

Command Sgt. Maj. Frennier also took the opportunity to visit local facilities including the Mine Resistant Ambush Protected Sustainment Facility, Directorate of Logistics, Consolidated Receiving and Shipping Point, Troop Medical Clinic, and U.S. Army Medical Material Center – Southwest Asia.

"You soldiers are saving lives here,” Command Sgt. Maj. Frennier explained to troops working at the U.S. Army MMC-SA. “Soldiers often times don’t realize the hard work being put forward in getting these crucial medical supplies to them in theatre. They just know that when they need something, it’s there.”

After touring the facilities, Command Sgt. Maj. Frennier presided over the first ever Sergeant Audie Murphy Club board held here. Upon completion of the board, he briefed over 200 senior and junior enlisted soldiers on the importance of upholding Army standards, and thanked them for their hard work and dedication.

“You soldiers are my bottom line; I work for you,” Command Sgt. Maj. Frennier said. “Prior to making any recommendation, I think of you. Thank you for everything you do.”

Third Army remains committed to offering soldiers outstanding leadership. Through visiting the region, Command Sgt. Maj. Frennier is helping to motivate, mentor and guide soldiers, the strength of our nation.
