LAKE SHELBYVILLE, Mo. - The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has announced that the annual drawdown of Lake Shelbyville to conservation pool is scheduled to begin Dec. 15.
The pool elevation of Lake Shelbyville Dec. 5 was 599.94 feet above sea level. Lake Shelbyville conservation pool level is 594.0 feet above sea level.
The drawdown to conservation pool elevation is to provide storage for the anticipated precipitation through the winter and spring months. The lowering of the pool elevation could be influenced by inflow into the lake, rainfall upstream into the West Okaw and Kaskaskia River Watersheds and flood control considerations.
