FORT LEE, Va. -- The Defense Contract Management Agency will hold a ribbon-cutting ceremony, Sept. 15 at 10 a.m., at its newly renovated Building 10500, located at the corner of 38th Avenue and A Avenue on Fort Lee.
Undersecretary of Defense for Acquisition, Technology and Logistics, Ashton Carter, is scheduled to be the keynote speaker for the ceremony.
The building will be dedicated and officially named Homer Hall in honor of DCMA employee Herb Homer, who tragically died in the terrorist attacks on 9/11. Building 10500, which previously housed the Combined Arms Support Command, has undergone substantial renovations to support personnel and mission.
More than 600 military and civilian personnel will occupy the new DCMA headquarters building. As directed by the 2005 Base Realignment and Closure legislation, DCMA began relocating personnel in June 2007 from the DCMA headquarters in northern Virginia, and other locations here to Fort Lee.
