3rd ACR returns from Operation New Dawn

FORT HOOD, Texas -- The 3rd Armored Cavalry Regiment leadership and Regimental Colors will return after a year-long deployment in support of Operation New Dawn in Iraq. The ceremony will take place at 8:30 a.m., Aug. 17, at Field 9400 (next to 3rd ACR Headquarters).

This arrival signifies the return of the 3rd ACR from Iraq. The "Brave Rifles" were the first unit to be deployed under Operation New Dawn. The unit conducted advise and assist missions in South Central Iraq.
