BAGRAM AIR BASE, Afghanistan - Naval Support Activity Bahrain's Morale, Welfare and Recreation (MWR) department donated a variety of new fitness equipment, Aug. 1, to Sailors assigned to the Provisional Reconstruction Team (PRT) here.
"The MWR gear is going to be of great assistance for our Sailors," said Command Master Chief (SS) Robert Hamilton, U.S. Naval Forces Central Command's Afghanistan Detachment command master chief. "They'll be able to continue working on the culture of fitness that the Navy is promoting. It's also a great avenue for them to blow off some steam."
The new equipment promises to be a real morale boost for service members stationed at the base.
"Physical training is a very important part of our mission," said Storekeeper 1st Class Corliss Boettcher. "In order to do our mission, we have to be physically fit. This extra equipment is going to make it possible for everyone to train."
The primary mission of all Afghanistan's PRTs is to help the government and citizens of Afghanistan build a stable future for their country.
