JOPLIN, Mo. — The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers awarded a $1.2 million contract to Hunter Modular Construction Company, Inc., a SBA certified Woman-Owned Hub-Zone small business based out of Jonesburg, Mo., for modular facilities to be used as a temporary school June 25.
The contract, in the amount of $1,257,709.48, is for the supply and installation of modular facilities for a temporary school for Irving Elementary at Washington Campus, located at 1112 East 2nd Street in Joplin.
USACE is managing the construction of temporary critical structures in Joplin as part of the federal government’s unified national response following the tornado which struck the city May 22. These facilities are for use while longer term repairs are made or more permanent replacement structures are built.
The critical public facilities mission, assigned by FEMA, can include constructing temporary fire stations, schools and medical facilities.
