    FORT RILEY, Kan. – After 10 days of battling injuries sustained during a rocket attack in Baghdad, a 1st Infantry Division soldier died June 16 in a Boston medical facility.

    Spc. Marcos Armando Cintron, 32, of Orlando, Fla., is the sixth soldier to die from the June 6 attack that also took the lives of Spc. Emilio Campo, Pfc. Michael Cook, Pfc. Christopher Fishbeck, Spc. Robert Hartwick, and Pfc. Michael Olivieri. He had been medically evacuated from Iraq following the attack, but his wounds proved too severe.

    The soldiers were all assigned to 1st Battalion, 7th Field Artillery Regiment, 2nd Heavy Brigade Combat Team, 1st Infantry Division, and were deployed to Iraq in support of Operation New Dawn.

    Cintron was a cannon crew member. He joined the Army in February 2010.

    The 2nd Heavy Brigade Combat Team deployed to Iraq in November 2010, and serves as the 2nd Advise and Assist Brigade, supporting the development of Iraq Security Forces and the improvement of civil capacity in central Iraq.
