HELMAND PROVINCE, Afghanistan – The 7th Commando Kandak, partnered with U.S. Special Operations Forces, conducted operations to decrease insurgent legitimacy in the Sangin District, May 31 – June 4.
The operation interrupted insurgent activities by disrupting weapons procurement, supply routes and financing while also providing a Commando and SOF presence in the area.
The 7th Commandos took three suspected insurgents into custody and killed four insurgents. No civilians were injured and no property damage was reported during the operation.
The operation allowed Afghan citizens to see firsthand that the Government of Afghanistan is actively providing security in the district.
