Commandos, USSF detain suspected insurgents in Baghlan and Logar

BAGRAM AIR FIELD, Afghanistan – Afghan National Army Commandos, with soldiers from Special Operations Task Force – East, detained two persons of interest, including a suspected Taliban senior leader, March 26.
In the Baghlan-e Jadid district of Baghlan province, 2nd Company, 5th Commando Kandak detained a suspect Taliban sub-governor during a presence patrol through the area. The suspect, identified by local villagers, was in possession of numerous munitions, including hand grenades, at the time of detention.
During a separate operation in Logar province, soldiers from 3rd Company, 6th Commando Kandak detained an individual suspected of being an improvised explosive device facilitator.
Prior to his capture, the suspect was seen throwing a package onto a nearby roof, which upon later inspection revealed a pistol and bayonet.
Both suspects will be transferred to NDS custody for further investigation.
