    KABUL, Afghanistan – Afghan National Security and International Security Assistance Forces discovered a drugs cache in Zharay District, Kandahar province, March 4.

    The cache consisted of approximately 600 pounds (272 kilograms) of hashish. The drugs were destroyed by security forces.

    In Muhammad Aghah District, Logar province, Afghan and coalition forces discovered a weapons cache, March 4, consisting of 20 60 mm mortar rounds, 15 80 mm mortar rounds, four belts of 100 linked 7.62 mm rounds, one 107 mm rocket and one jug filled with approximately 25 pounds (22 kilograms) of homemade explosives.

    Afghan and coalition forces discovered a weapons cache in Shaykh ‘Ali District, Parwan province March 4. The cache consisted of 53 rocket propelled grenades, four RPG propeller charges, 21 57 mm mortar rounds, 10 82 mm mortar rounds, eight 82 mm mortar launchers and 15 boxes of small-arms ammunitions.

    Also in Parwan province, an Afghan and coalition forces patrol discovered a weapons cache in Eshqabad village, Jabal-e Saraj District, March 3.

    The cache included 60 anti-personal mines and a DShK anti-aircraft weapons system.

    All weapons and drugs have been or will be destroyed by security forces.
