KABUL, Afghanistan – The fifth Development Governance Working Group meeting took place at Camp Arena, Herat province, Feb. 17.
The Regional Command West Development and Governance Working Group was established by RC West to provide provincial governors, key development stakeholders, and RC West provincial reconstruction teams a tool to synchronize projects and develop strategies to fill gaps within the regional command area of responsibility.
“This is a very important meeting for us to share experiences; Herat’s security depends on security in the other three provinces; a road for Ghor it is also a road for Heart,” said Herat provincial Gov. Dr. Daoud Saba.
“I am really thankful to the kindness of Dr. Saba, always hosting these kinds of meetings and activities, but I also believe that next time we should meet in Ghor in order to see a different picture” said Ghor provincial Gov. Dr. Abdullah Haiwad.
After representatives spoke, two working groups were established in order to develop partnership programs concerning governance and development. One group consisted of Farah and Badghis governors, along with their respective provincial reconstruction team commanders. The second group was made of their counterparts from Ghor and Herat.
