    4th Maneuver Enhancement Brigade

FORT LEONARD WOOD, Mo. – Soldiers from the 512th Military Police Company, 4th Maneuver Enhancement Brigade returned home Tuesday following a 12-month deployment to Iraq. The unit was responsible for 30 district headquarters and two regional training centers. Their mission contributed to the Iraq drawdown by training Iraqi police and national forces to assume responsibility of northern Iraq.

“You guys are remarkable,” said Maj. Timothy Slemp, the rear detachment commander of the 92nd Military Police Battalion. “You assembled the Titan Training Academy which trained 2,000 Iraqi police in six months and established joint investigation teams which were the first of their kind in U.S. Division North.”

Two soldiers from the 512th MP Company received the Purple Heart Medal, five soldiers earned the Bronze Star Medal and more than 100 Army Commendation Medals have been awarded within the company.

“What an incredible journey this has been, training the citizens of Iraq to take care of their own,” said Spc. Jake Shields, a military policeman assigned to the 512th MP Company “We’re all so glad to be back!”

Soldiers from the 512th MP Company will take part in garrison reintegration and will then be offered the opportunity to take block leave.

512th military policemen are scheduled to assume post law enforcement duties toward the end of May.
