KHILIGAY, Afghanistan – Forty members of the Afghan Uniform Police graduated from the Directed Police District Development program in the Baghlan province Feb. 10 at Forward Operating Base Khiligay.
This is the second class to graduate from the DPDD program in Baghlan. The program is designed to train the existing police force in Baghlan province, providing the students critical skills necessary for an effective police force.
Over the six week course, AUP members learned specific law enforcement skills such as searching personnel and vehicles, handcuffing procedures, Afghan Constitution and traffic laws, hygiene, drill and ceremony, and basic rifle marksmanship.
To date, 86 police officers have graduated from the DPDD program in this province and are serving throughout Baghlan.
The next class is scheduled to begin in late February.
