KUNDUZ, Afghanistan - Afghan National Security Forces and members of the International Security Assistance Forces have secured areas throughout the Gor Tepa region, allowing humanitarian assistance missions to be conducted through Jan. 14.
Afghan National Police, along with local security forces provided blankets and jackets to Afghans in preparation for the winter season. With the increased snowfall, many people were provided the necessary items to remain warm.
The combined effort between ANSF and ISAF have brought about greater security to the local area as well as expanded the reach of the Government of Islamic Republic of Afghanistan to areas previously held by insurgents.
