MAZAR-E SHARIF, Afghanistan – After a three-day visit to International Security Assistance Force Regional Command North, U.S. Ambassador to Germany Phillip D. Murphy returns to Berlin Jan. 15.
“This is my second trip out here to RC-North but it’s never enough to express my gratitude for the work that you are doing,” said Murphy to the troops. “I am honored to be here and thank you for all that you do.”
The ambassador visited a teacher learning school in Mazar-e-Sharif, attended an oath of enlistment for 1,400 Afghans joining the Afghan National Army, was presented briefings on NATO Training Mission- Afghanistan and operations at Provincial Reconstruction Team Mazar-e-Sharif and visited a border crossing point between Uzbekistan and Afghanistan, as well as met U.S. soldiers with the 4th Combat Aviation Brigade and 10th Mountain Division.
