WARDAK, Afghanistan – Soldiers from 3rd Company, 6th Commando Kandak and Special Operations Task Force – East detained eight persons of interest during clearing operations in Tangi Valley, Wardak province Jan. 22.

The Afghan-led force conducted raids on multiple compounds in the Tangi Valley suspected of manufacturing improvised explosive devices.

Each detainee tested positive for explosive residue and multiple IED-making materials were found.

The Afghan National Army Commandos will question the detainees further.
