KABUL, Afghanistan – International Security Assistance Forces opened the second new school in the past month in Badghis province Saturday.
The $78,000 school in Ludina village in the Murghab district, has five classrooms, restroom facilities, a well and a perimeter wall. The Spanish Ministry of Defence funded the construction of the school and the Provincial Reconstruction Team-Badghis oversaw the project.
The Murghab district chief, Ibrahim Greffar, attended the school’s opening ceremony along with representatives from the three nations – Italy, Spain and the United States – who operate in Badghis province.
The school is the second one to open its doors in October in Badghis. A school in Ab Shora began classes Oct. 16.
