KABUL, Afghanistan -- Members of the Czech Republic Provincial Reconstruction Team Logar finished work on primary and secondary schools in two districts in Logar province last week.
With the assistance of the local community, members of the PRT erected a new building with classrooms for more than 500 students and refurbished existing buildings in Muhammad Aghah District.
"In the winter it was freezing, I was sick and now in the summer heat was terrible, I could not concentrate on anything," says Abdul, a student at the new school. "We now have a school made of bricks and concrete in the classroom are even benches. Mainly, though, you do not have to learn outside."
PRT Logar also completed construction on a school in the Pul-e 'Alam District and is currently working on a school in Azrah, the most remote district in Logar.
