Outgoing 4960th MFTB Commander Honors Non Commissioned Officers On Last Day of His Command
Every unit has them, the NCOs who go above and beyond the regular call of duty to ensure the mission is accomplished. These are the Iron NCOs. They are the tough, resilient, high standard Noncommissioned Officers who stand out among the rest because of the extra effort, extra discipline, and extra commitment they bring to the formation. They embody the words “competence is my watchword,” a core truth of the NCO Creed.
NCOs are the backbone of the Army. It can be said that Iron NCOs are the backbone of the NCO Corps, the ones who make things happen, who keep standards tight, and who are often the first to step forward when the unit needs something done and the last ones to leave when the work is finished.
The outgoing commander of the 4960th Multi Functional Training Brigade took time on his final day in command to recognize several of his Iron NCOs. He spoke about the importance of the NCO Corps and the critical role these standout leaders play in keeping the brigade moving forward. He expressed his gratitude for their service, wished the formation well, and encouraged every Soldier to continue the great work they have been doing.
