NORFOLK, Va. — Submarine Squadron Six held a change of command ceremony aboard Los Angeles-class attack submarine USS Pasadena (SSN 752) at Naval Station Norfolk, Aug. 26, 2026, as Capt. Sterling S. Jordan relinquished command to Capt. Andrew L. Domina.
Adm. William J. Houston, Director, Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program, served as the guest speaker for the event, highlighting the strategic importance of the submarine force and praising the operational readiness displayed under Jordan’s leadership.
During his tenure, Jordan led the squadron through critical maintenance, training, and operational deployments across the Atlantic.
“‘Glad to Be Here’ is a phrase that reminds us that no matter what, we are a part of the greatest fighting force that has ever existed,” said Jordan. “This is our motto at Squadron Six. You are some of the finest officers, chiefs and enlisted that I have served with. You made every day in command significant, impactful, and fun.”
Upon assuming command, Domina expressed his commitment to maintaining warfighting readiness and supporting the Sailors and commands under Submarine Squadron Six.
“I am incredibly honored and humbled to step into the role as the Squadron Six Commodore,” said Domina. “The formidable reputation of this squadron is a direct reflection of the men and women who crew the submarines, preparing every day for combat operations.”
Submarine Squadron Six exercises operational control over fast-attack submarines homed in Norfolk, managing logistics, tactical preparation, and administrative support to ensure undersea warfare capabilities.
