PACIFIC MISSILE RANGE FACILITY, KEKAHA, - Commander, Navy Region Hawaii has ordered the setting of Tropical Cyclone Condition of Readiness (TCCOR) three for the Pacific Missile Range Facility (PMRF). PMRF advised all base personnel to complete TCCOR three checklists and essential storm preparations.
A level TCCOR three advisory at this stage positions PMRF to proceed with specific preparedness efforts on installation, ahead of schedule, and prior to the arrival of severe weather from Hurricane Lowell. The installation remains fully mission capable with potential follow-on actions contingent upon weather updates.
“With the support of Navy Region Hawaii, we’re advancing preparations set for level three, ahead of the storm, to give our staff the time they need to secure essential facilities and complete emergency checklists on installation and at home,” said Captain Robert Prince, PMRF commanding officer.
PMRF recreational sites and programs will adjust closures and hours of operation as needed based on weather conditions. For the latest updates on Morale, Welfare and Recreation (MWR) events and services, visit the PMRF MWR Facebook page at www.facebook.com/PMRFMoraleWelfare.
PMRF guest pass access is scheduled to close beginning Sunday, Sept. 6, 2026. Information on reopening will be posted once weather conditions improve.
“Weather events like this reinforce the importance of training before conditions worsen. The time we invest in preparing our personnel and practicing our procedures is what allows us to respond safely, decisively, and effectively when real-world conditions demand it.” said Captain Prince.
