DETROIT ARSENAL — Col. Christopher Masson, commander of the Red River Army Depot, and Col. Danilo Green, commander of Watervliet Arsenal, visited the Tank-automotive and Armaments Command Aug. 27 to meet with TACOM staff and learn about the organization as its two newest Organic Industrial Base commanders. The full-day session underscored how seriously TACOM takes onboarding new leaders.
Brian Butler, TACOM deputy to the commander, opened the meeting with welcoming remarks, drawing on his own time as a commander at Sierra Army Depot to convey the work that lies ahead but also the personal and professional rewards.
Masson assumed command of RRAD on June 25. Green has led WVA since July 23.
Butler closed with a personal pledge to the two colonels: “This is my commitment to you — I will fall on my sword any day of the week for you.” The line captured the day’s underlying message: TACOM is committed to its people.
