USACE announces new management of Moutardier Recreation Area at Nolin River Lake
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Louisville District announces new management of the Moutardier Recreation Area at Nolin River Lake near Leitchfield, Kentucky. Effective Sept. 1, 2026, Moutardier Day Use Area will be managed under a lease agreement with Moutardier, LLC. Effective Nov. 1, 2026, Moutardier Campground and associated campground facilities, including the fishing pier, parking lot and boat ramp, will also be managed by Moutardier, LLC, who will oversee day-to-day operations and reservation services.
USACE remains committed to maintaining a sustainable recreation program while providing a high-quality experience for lake visitors. As part of this effort, the Louisville District routinely evaluates how to best deliver an enduring recreation program amid rising supply and service costs. This includes optimizing project operations through public-private partnerships.
To support these objectives, the Louisville District is partnering with a local business to transition management responsibilities for Moutardier Recreation Area. This partnership is intended to enhance operational efficiency and maintain recreation facilities for public use.
Any existing reservations at the day-use area will be honored by the new lessee. Questions regarding fees, pass eligibility, or reservation procedures should be directed to the new managing entity, Moutardier, LLC, at 502-333-2838 or Noelle@moutardiernolin.com.
Under the lease agreement, lessees are required to comply with all terms and conditions of the lease, as well as all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
