FORT RUCKER, Ala.— For service members, veterans, and their families, access to quality healthcare isn’t just a benefit — it is a cornerstone of readiness and well-being.

To ensure the local military community receives the best possible care, Lyster Army Health Clinic (LAHC) and Humana Military hosted the 10th annual TRICARE Network Providers Collaboration event, August 19, 2026, at Fort Rucker.

The annual event gathers TRICARE network providers to enhance relationships, optimize Military Treatment Facility (MTF) care, and increase patient satisfaction. It also affords a valuable opportunity for military physicians, civilian healthcare providers, nursing staff, and administrative teams to meet face-to-face and discuss medical best practices.

"Our mission of maintaining a medically ready force depends heavily on the strong partnerships we build with our civilian healthcare providers. This annual collaboration ensures that when our service members and their families step outside our clinic doors for specialized care, they receive the same high standard of medicine they expect right here at Lyster," stated Lt. Col. Ryan Allred, Commander at Lyster Army Health Clinic.

Lyster routinely refers patients to community network providers for specialized services such as cardiovascular care, gastroenterology, general surgery, neurology, and urgent care. Having access to high-quality care in the local area is instrumental to maintaining the health and readiness of the force.

Navigating the broader military health system can sometimes feel complex, but understanding the importance of using TRICARE network providers is a key part of maximizing benefits. Prioritizing health is paramount, and choosing network providers is a smart way to ensure beneficiaries receive the care they deserve.

"Humana Military is incredibly proud of our partnership with Lyster Army Health Clinic. This annual event is a vital opportunity to align our civilian provider network with the clinic's medical leadership. By working together, we ensure that military families receive a seamless, coordinated healthcare experience,” said Trena Gosha, TRICARE Health Systems Manager, Humana Military, TRICARE East.

While TRICARE generally allows beneficiaries to seek care from any authorized provider, using providers within the TRICARE network offers significant advantages, including:

    • Lower Out-of-Pocket Costs:Network providers have agreed to accept negotiated rates for their services. This means beneficiaries pay less in copayments, deductibles, and cost-shares compared to seeing a non-network provider. The difference can be substantial, especially for ongoing care or specialized treatments.
    • Seamless Claims Processing:When seeing a network provider, claims are typically filed electronically and processed much more smoothly, reducing the likelihood of unexpected bills or manual paperwork.
    • Pre-Authorization Assistance:Some services require pre-authorization from TRICARE. Network providers are familiar with the TRICARE process and can often assist with this, saving patients time.
    • Quality Assurance:TRICARE network providers are vetted to meet specific quality standards. While all authorized providers are qualified, being in the network signifies an additional level of commitment to TRICARE standards.

Beneficiaries can easily locate network providers near them, whether stationed at home or abroad, using TRICARE’s online Provider Directory athttps://www.google.com/url?q=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.tricare.mil%2Ffind-a-doctor.
