MCSG welcomes new commander during change of command ceremony
MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif. — “To our junior leaders, remember this: Leadership is about people. Maintain standards. Make the hard decisions. Take care of your Soldiers. Develop the people who will come after you. Years from now, they probably will not remember your slides, and your meetings, and frankly that is probably a good thing. But they will remember how you led them. They will remember whether you cared, whether you stood beside them when things were difficult, and whether you made them better leaders,” Col. Krisha Andrews said during her farewell remarks.

Throughout her tenure as commander of the Mission Command Support Group, 63rd Readiness Division, Andrews emphasized developing and taking care of Soldiers and junior leaders. Her leadership extended beyond accomplishing the mission, with an emphasis on professional military education, opportunities for growth and the personal well-being of those she led. Andrews encouraged Soldiers to pursue professional development and training opportunities while fostering a command climate centered on mentorship, empathy and compassion, qualities reflected in the leadership principles she shared during her final remarks as commander.

The Mission Command Support Group, 63rd Readiness Division, held a change of command ceremony Aug. 22, 2026, in Mountain View, marking the transition of leadership from Andrews to Col. Stephen D. Morrow. Maj. Gen. Windsor S. Buzza, commanding general of the 63rd RD, presided over the ceremony as Soldiers, leaders and distinguished guests gathered to recognize Andrews’ service and welcome Morrow as the MCSG commander.

Andrews relinquished command after leading MCSG and its Soldiers in support of the 63rd RD mission. The ceremony included the presentation of the colors, the ceremonial transfer of command, remarks from leadership and music provided by the 191st Army Band. The transfer of command marked the formal transition of authority and responsibility from Andrews to Morrow while recognizing Andrews’ contributions to the organization and its Soldiers.

Morrow assumed command of MCSG following the ceremonial transfer, beginning a new chapter of leadership for the organization. Soldiers from across the 63rd RD attended the ceremony to recognize Andrews for her leadership and service and welcome Morrow to his new role. As MCSG moves forward under new leadership, the organization continues its mission of supporting readiness and operations across the 63rd RD.
